Homebirth Midwifery Care

Autonomy, comfort, and naturally-minded care are just the beginning of the benefits you can expect from my Wild Moon midwifery care. Your fertility and pregnancy appointments take place in my cozy, private office...where may find yourself sipping on a cup of herbal tea, receiving a relaxing foot rub, or learning a new technique to help you in labor. Your labor, birth, postpartum, and newborn care take place where you and your baby are most at ease— in the comfort of your own home. • Throughout care, I will be tracking your vitals, lab values, and the baby’s development, ensuring that your pregnancy is developing normally. There are many decisions to make during pregnancy about your care and your baby’s care. As your midwife, my role is to give you the information and support you need to make authentic choices for yourself and your family. • Preconception care: Together we work to bring you and your partner to a new level of health and wellness as you prepare to conceive. I recommend you give yourselves 3-6 months to optimally prepare, but I also have shorter protocols for those of you who simply can’t wait any longer to start your new family. • Complete prenatal care: Come in as soon as you think you might be pregnant to get the most benefit out of midwifery care during your pregnancy. I offer free pregnancy testing and a complimentary initial consultation to see if my care is a good fit for you and your growing family. • Labor and Birth care in your home: If you dream of a natural labor and delivery, where your autonomy and privacy are honored and where you can receive care in the supportive environment of your home or other out-of-hospital environment, you are in the right place. I am here to support you the way you want to be supported during the sacred moments of labor and birth and as you meet the newest member of your family. • Postpartum and Newborn care in your home: I come fully equipped to care for you and your newborn in the comfort of your own home during the first two weeks after you give birth.

Birth Doula Services

Birth works best when you feel safe and supported. For those who don’t feel comfortable with birthing at home, I offer doula services in the hospital in Omak, Chelan, and Wenatchee, WA. I use massage, spinning babies, and a variety of comfort techniques to help you feel comfortable laboring at home as long as you like. I aim to you get to the hospital at the optimal time to receive the care you desire and avoid unnecessary interventions. My goal is to help couples deepen their connection and work together throughout labor. A doula may seem like a luxury, but as one dad said, “Going to the hospital without a doula is like going to court without a lawyer.” The hospital can be a safe and satisfying place to give birth— especially with the right support.

Fertility Enhancement & Preconception Care

Supporting people as they prepare to become parents is one of my favorite parts of caring for families. I encourage healing and wholeness-centered solutions that maximize your health and wellness. I offer a holistic basketful of tools and approaches, so each family can incorporate what fits for them. • Nutrition • Exercise • Bodywork • Nature Connection • Healing & Wholeness

Holistic Pelvic Restoration

I incorporate a blend of synergistic approaches to heal pelvic issues at the root level. Your situation is unique, so I take the time to listen to your story and assess your situation in order to get a holistic sense of the root causes of pelvic imbalance and to find the appropriate place to begin the healing process. In a series of sessions, usually 4-8, the holistic journey to pelvic restoration often includes: • Bodywork • Posture • Movement • Energy work • Supportive Therapies • Castor oil packs • Pelvic steams • Herbal bathing When our focused work together is complete, you will have the tools you need to continue restoring optimal pelvic function and to maintain lifelong pelvic health.

Therapeutic Bodywork for the Childbearing Cycle

Caring for your body is caring for your baby, because you are your baby’s first home. Wild Moon’s array of services can truly support you from preconception all the way through postpartum. Bodywork can be helpful to ease pregnancy and help labor flow. Once baby is born, bodywork helps encourage the reorganization of the pelvic and abdominal structures. Massage helps to harmonize your energy field and tend to your emotional body, while helping your physical being find more balance, alignment, and flow. Wild Moon Bodywork supports • Enhancing fertility • Hormonal communication • Nutrient circulation • Removing wastes and toxins • Lymph flow • Nervous system support • Digestive support • Hip and back comfort • Aligning the uterus (is baby always “on one side”?) • Resolving pubic bone pain • Round ligament comfort • Pelvic floor balancing • Bladder function • Uterine position after birth • Reducing numbness and tingling in the arms or legs • Resolving carpal tunnel syndrome • Shortness of breath • Acid reflux • Breech, transverse, or oblique baby position • Calf cramps • Painful varicose veins • Relieving pelvic congestion • Knitting together a diastasis recti

Turning Breech Consultations & Bodywork

I offer individualized consultations for people who have a baby in a persistent breech position or other “malposition” to help encourage your baby to turn head down and find a more favorable position for labor. The best time for this consult is between 32-34 weeks of pregnancy, especially if the baby has been breech, oblique, or transverse for many weeks now. However, the second best time for a consult is as soon as possible, once you find out your baby’s position is at odds with your labor and birth plans. Initial Consultation: • Listen deeply to your personal story • Consider your particular pregnancy and medical history • Talk through options for ECV, cesarean, and vaginal breech birth • Complete a visual assessment of your physiology and postural habits that may be effecting the space available to the baby • Offer individualized recommendations for stretches, exercises, self-massage, and other supportive therapies to help balance the physical structures of the body and support baby to move into a head down position. • Create a customized protocol with you to help your baby turn that fits with your goals, lifestyle, and your timeline Breech Balancing Bodywork: For people who live in Washington state, I can offer 1-3 in-person bodywork sessions that will complement the individualized protocol. The specialized bodywork I do helps accelerate the alignment and balancing of the physical structures that may be holding baby up, so to speak. Ongoing Support: From our consult on I am by your side, available by phone and text, until your baby is settled in a favorable head down position. I am here to listen, to answer questions, talk through your options, modify your protocol as needed, and offer practical and emotional support when you need it.

Placenta Medicine

I am happy to process and encapsulate your placenta for you after your birth. Placentas are beautiful and potent, rich with blood, hormones, and the wild spirit of birth and motherhood. Their shape and constitution tells a sacred story, which I honor as best I can as I create placenta medicine for each client. I use the raw, dehydrated method to preserve the vitality of the placenta as much as possible while turning it into the easy-to-take form of capsules. I tend to add tasty, uplifting herbs that also aid with digestion for mother and baby (through the mother’s milk). I often make a custom herbal blend for a mother with whom I am working more intimately. I can usually make placenta medicine within 24-48 hours of receiving the placenta, so that you begin to benefit right away, soon after you give birth.
